Where weight loss fits

People with type 2 diabetes who take Ozempic often lose weight, but the label is built around diabetes care. For weight management, semaglutide is approved as Wegovy, in doses studied specifically in people with obesity or overweight, including a 2.4 mg weekly maintenance dose.

What off-label means

Doctors may legally prescribe an approved medicine for a use that is not on its label when they judge it appropriate. Realistic expectations
