Health Matters USA runs the GLP-1 Weight Loss Calculator, a free tool and library of plain-language guides that help people understand realistic timelines and basic facts about GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide.
What this site is, and is not
This site is educational. It is not a medical practice, we do not diagnose or treat anyone, and nothing here is medical advice. Prescription treatment requires evaluation and approval by a licensed medical professional. Read our medical disclaimer.
Where our information comes from
- Dosing, indications, and side effects are taken from the current FDA prescribing information for each medication, and each guide links to the label it used.
- Weight-loss estimates use average results from published clinical trials: STEP 1 for semaglutide and SURMOUNT-1 for tirzepatide. Our methodology page explains exactly what the calculator does and does not use.
- Approval status and news (for example, newly approved products or drugs still in trials) is checked against the manufacturer or FDA at the time we write about it.
Our guides are prepared by our editorial team from these primary sources. They have not been individually medically reviewed, and they cannot account for your personal health history. Your prescriber is the right source for decisions about your care.
Keeping content current
Drug labels and approvals change. Guides show when they were last updated (most recently 2026-09-23), and we revise pages when a label or approval status changes. If something looks out of date, tell us.
Corrections
If you find an error, email steve@stevehetrick.com with the page and what you believe is wrong. We will review it against the source and correct verified errors promptly.
How this site makes money
The calculator and guides are free. Health Matters USA has a paid partnership with Tyde Wellness, a telehealth provider, and may earn a commission if you sign up through links on this site or in our emails. This does not change our estimates or what our guides say. Mentions of medications and brands do not imply endorsement by their manufacturers.
